Gas Based Fire Suppression System

Product Description

(NOVEC – 1230 / FK 5-1-12)

Novec 1230 fire protection fluid is based on a proprietary chemistry from 3M called C6-fluoroketone; it is also Known as FK 5-1-12 — the way it is designated in NFPA 2001 and ISO 14520 clean agent standards. Although it is a liquid at room temperature it gasifies immediately after being discharged in a total flooding system. In the shop, Novec 1230 fluid is easier to use than pressurized gas. Simply transfer the fluid from the container to the system cylinder, using a simplified closed loop process to avoid contamination. Then, super pressurize the cylinder with nitrogen. The product is ideal for use in total flooding applications, localized flooding systems, directional spray type applications and may be used in portable extinguishers for specialized applications. NOVEC System has the widest margin of safety because its use concentration is much lower than its No Observable Adverse Effects Level (NOAEL) Alarm/Sounder Solenoid Valve Smoke Detector Novec 1230 fluid offers a long- term, sustainable technology that has the greatest margin of safety, the lowest GWP for halocarbon alternatives, and zero ozone depletion potential.

FM-200/HFC-227EA

FM-200/HFC-227ea is an odorless, colorless, liquefied compressed gas. It is stored as a liquid and dispensed into the hazard as a_ colorless, electrically nonconductive vapor that is clear and does not obscure vision. It leaves no residue and has acceptable toxicity for use at design concentration. in occupied spaces FM-200/HFC-227ea extinguishes a fire by a combination of chemical and physical mechanisms. FM-200/HFC-227ea’s mechanism of extinguishing fires is considered active. Its primary action is through physically cooling the fire at the molecular level. FM-200/HFC-227ea belongs to the same class of agents used in the refrigeration industry; therefore, it is an efficient heat transfer agent. FM-200/HFC-227ea removes the thermal energy from the fire to the extent where the combustion reaction cannot sustain itself.

THE FOLLOWING ARE TYPICAL HAZARDS PROTECTED BY FM-200/HFC-227EA SYSTEMS:

>> Computer rooms

>> Document store

>> Tape/DATA storage

>> Telecommunication/Switchgear

>> Vaults

>> Process equipment

>> All normally occupied or unoccupied electronic areas where equipments are either very sensitive or irreplaceable.
